WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?

Aims of  the  lesson:  To practice language for predicting the future (The present continues, going to  ,might, Adjectives.) ;       
                                                    To develop speaking skills;
Anticipated problems.  1. There can’t be whole class involved;

                    
2.Some students might not be aware to use adjectives proper
                                     3. The selected video  lasts 6 minutes and it can be difficult to follow the whole film;

Before the lesson: The video is cut into three parts. A projector and slides are checked;Level:  Pre-intermediate;
Materials: Digital support-power point, video, a projector, pens and exercise-books;

T. asks the students how they express various feelings.

Vocabulary input. Pair work.
(7 mn)
To revise and practice vocabulary in their conversation.
T. uses power point slides to make Ss in pairs to group positive and negative adjectives and  asks them to use in the sentences.
Ss  group the adjectives (exhausted, selfish ,coward, lonely, absent-minded, gloomy, cheerful, romantic, sociable friendly polite e.t.c.)
e.g. After the lessons I’m exhausted.
 When I’m cheated I get gloomy. Generous people are usually friendly e.t.c.

Grammar focus
(4 mn.)
To revise the present continuous tense,  be going to, might.
T.asks what they are going to do in the nearest future.
Ss make up sentences:e.g.  I’m giving a party. I might be more patient and so on.

To watch the video
Signs” in pauses to consider and make conclusions;
T. asks the Ss. to watch the video,  to characterise the main character, to predict what will happen in the next part of the film, what kind of life the main character has, why he is sad and absent-minded, who appears in his life, what’s makes his life cheerful and so on…
